Homes Urban is a boutique-sized multifamily housing developer and investor with assets located throughout the Southeastern United States. Led by seasoned industry veterans, our expertise is building thoughtfully designed rental homes in many forms and configurations on prime sites within exceptional communities.
Based in Mount Pleasant, SC and Greenville, SC, Homes Urban was formed in 2013 by J. Russ Davis, Jr. and E.J. Mondor. Homes Urban’s predecessor, Davis Property Group, was formed in 1998. The principals of Homes Urban have developed over 15,000 multifamily units to date and are well-positioned to expand our established platform.

Russ Davis is a Founder of Homes Urban, advising the firm on strategic opportunities and leading its fundraising efforts. Active in the multifamily industry since 1984, Russ has founded and led several multifamily development and acquisition companies and has won numerous industry awards and accolades. In addition to founding Homes Urban in 2013, Russ founded Davis Property Group, Collegiate Hall Properties, and Terwilliger, Davis, and Leadbetter. Russ previously held several positions for industry leader Trammell Crow Residential (TCR), including serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer of TCR’s Midwest and Northeast Residential Services divisions. Prior to starting his own companies, Russ worked in the REIT industry, holding a leadership position at Merry Land and Investment Company. Market experience includes the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeastern United States.
Russ earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina.
Russ has been a civic and philanthropic leader, including serving on the Clemson Advancement Board for Real Estate Development (ABREO) of which he is a former Chairman, and is a current serving as a member of the Greenville Local Development Corporation, Hollingsworth Funds Inc., Verdae Development Inc., Clemson Land Stewardship Foundation and Clemson Real Estate Foundation Boards.

E.J. Mondor is a Founder of Homes Urban. An active investor in the multifamily industry for many years, E.J.’s accomplishments since co-founding Homes Urban have included leading numerous ground-up development projects as well as several acquisition/re-positioning projects. He has extensive experience in the aerospace industry managing and executing third party complex projects and government contracts. E.J. previously had a 29-year career with Woven Electronics, where he last served as President of the company. Prior to Woven Electronics, E.J. served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service where he was routinely recognized and decorated for his efforts.
E.J.’s education included 6 years in the United States Navy training in the “Advance Electronics Program.” This dovetailed into a long career with a Military/Aerospace production company focusing on Research and Development and establishing long term government and commercial contracts.
E.J. is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
