John W. Morgan III

John Morgan is a Senior Advisor to Homes Urban, sourcing development opportunities and assisting with project planning and design. Active in the real estate industry since 1973, John is semi-retired after an extensive career in real estate investment and development. John’s projects have included three large mixed-use master planned communities, as well as the development of over 500 specialized single family, multifamily, townhouse, and condominium units in resort, urban infill, and university settings. John founded and led The Development Group, Inc., while also working or partnering with Moss Creek Plantation, The Keenan Company, Greenwood Communities and Resorts, and The Kolter Group over the span of his career. With ventures located in the Southeast and Texas, John’s projects received numerous awards in architecture, land planning, and historic preservation.

John earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Clemson University and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design degree from Rice University.

John has served on several boards including the Rice Center for Community Design and Research, Beaufort County Joint Planning Commission, Historic Columbia Foundation, Columbia Housing Authority, Clemson Architectural Foundation (CAF), and Clemson Advancement Board for Real Estate Development (ABRED).
